Entries in The Australian Awards
for Excellence in Educational Publishing
for 2002 are open.
Instituted in 1994 by the Australian Publishers Association and the University of Sydney Teaching Resources Textbooks Research Unit (TREAT) and supported by The Australian newspape, the Awards recognise and honour the best of educational materials published during the year. The 2002 Awards continue to build on the initial concept of improving the quality and use of textbooks and other educational materials throughout Australia.The Australian Awards for Excellence in Educatio Publishing in 2002 will recognise excellence across all areas of education publishing from textbooks to websites and from primary to tertiary education.Details of these categories ant the judging criteria appear on this form.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
1 Material must be edited,
designed ant at least 75% authored in Australia.*
2 Materials must be designed primarily for use in Australian
educational settings.
3 Entries must have been published for the first time between 1 April
2001 and 31 March 2002.It is expected that to be eligible, new
editions will have been substantially re-designed and re-issued in
that period. Clarification on eligibility of new editions should be

4 Entries must be received At TREAT by 5pm on Thursday 4 April
2002.
5 The entry fee is $77 per entry (Includes $7GST)for APA members and
$154 for non APA members(includes $14 GST). Entry is free in the
Technology Showcase category if the material has been entered in
another category.
6 An unlimited number of entries may be submitted.
*Except for the category Tertiary Education (Adaptation) where there is a minimum 30% Australian content
