back to Discussion Room
Index
- Don't discuss things not related to the
discussion thread. Start a new thread instead if
necessary.
- Just as with email, be careful how you
express yourself. 'Spur of the moment' responses or sarcasm can be
misinterpreted. Compose you message before you join the discussion
room.
- Recognise that people are busy - don't
become impatient if you don't get an immediate response. Visitors
come and go out of discussion rooms.
- Make a conscious effort to observe the
discussion before joining in so you are not repeating what has
already been said." I think Michael was right" won't register on
the useful meter
- Look for comments and responses from tutors
that may help guide the discussion.
- Remember, a discussion room is a public
place, so behave as you would in public!!
- Using all capitals is SHOUTING, so please
avoid.
