Judging Criteria
For all categories the
judges will take into consideration the aim of the publication in
meeting educational and market need, including syllabus and course
requirements in Australian educational institutions. Any special
features should be noted by entrants The judges will use the
following criteria in judging entries:
- clarity of writing;
- pedagogical underpinning
and implications;
- nature and quality of
supporting illustrations;
- appropriateness of page
layout and design;
- representation of the
discipline (non tertiary categories);
- publishing contribution of
the publication to the discipline ( non-tertiary categories
);
- quality of the subject
matter
- innovation and flair;and
- the importance of the
market.
Technology
Showcase Judging Criteria
The judges will take
into account the following additional criteria in judging entries in
the Technology Showcase category:
- practical application in
teaching and learning situations;
- capacity to expand the
boundaries of textbook usage;
- enhancement of existing
resources; and
- ease of use
Website
Judging Criteria
The Australian educational website category which will recognises the
excellence of educational websites. Judging in this category will
take account of the overall judging criteria and the following
additional criteria:
- applicability of the site
to a course or courses of study;
- capacity of the site to
meet the curriculum outcomes and pedagogy of teachers and
learners;
- presence of original or
site-specific contents;
- ease of access and
navigation
- capacity of the site to
engage learners to achieve educational outcomes; and
- provision of appropriate
links and resources.
