Parkes
This web - site will give you a brief
history of the town of Parkes in Central Western New South Wales. The
town was eventually named Parkes, but not until it had been known as
Currajong and Bushmans.
The population of the area kept on growing
and today the Parkes shire has a population of over 15, 000
residents. The buzzing town relies on a number of industries for its
existence, these industries include, mining, agriculture, transport
and communication.
