Sarah

Hi! I have chosen Anthony Hopkins as the actor to play Macbeth, but l have no ideas for a women to play Lady Macbeth. Can you give me any ideas? She has to be well known, maybe have played a role in a Shakespearan based play already or even played a character of a manipulative, domineering, strong women in another movie. Any ideas would be useful. Also l need a few hints on how to write the letter to the Austr. Film Corporation. It has to be formal and l have no clue on how to structure it.If you could help it would be great.

Hi Sarah. I think that Helena Botham-Carter would make a good Lady Macbeth. I think she would be a good choice as she has been in a lot of gothic films and period dramas. She was also in the movie version of Twelfth Night. I think she has a real presence, and can play strong characters. As for the letter I think it would be easier if you broke it down into sections. The first part of your letter could be an introduction of yourself and the reason for the letter. The second part, or paragraph, could give the Film Corporation an overview of the plot, themes and setting. The third part could involve your discussion of the value of the play and from this, how you will make it into a film. You could end the letter by thanking them for their time and expressing your hopes of hearing from them soon. I hope these ideas help you out a bit, and please post anymore questions you have. Bye
