The equation of the line which passes through the point (2,5) and is perpendicular to the line y=3x+1

Perpendicular to y = 3x + 1 means it has gradient -1/3 Passes through (2, 5) means that y - 5 = -1/3(x - 2) ...which means that the equation is 3y = 17 - x
