RICROC

Three people pay ten pounds each in a restaurant for a £30 bill. The waiter then realises the bill is only £25 and decides to reimburse each of the three £1, keeping a £2 tip for himself. They have therefore paid £9 each, a total of £27. This plus the waiters tip of £2 adds up to only £29. Missing pound? Alternatively, £25/3=c£8.33pp + reimbursed £1*3 +£2tip = £30. Can anyone please explain why this is?
