hey all, im going to tutor this girl for HSC chemistry, does anyone know any good sites that covers HSC topics and any good text books besides pathways and excel. Also does anyone know any good experiments that i can give for year 9 physics on how concave and convex mirrors give different images diside the light beam experiment or even how a mirror gives an inverted image ect.

Hi Randala. have u already done the concave/convex mirror experiment? il b on light next wk so il be looking stuff up as of 2morro. so if u still need experiments let me know and il email u whatever i can find. Heinmann textbook 3 and heinmann outcomes 3 (the r 9 textbook) should have some experiments in it if u can get ur hands on that

Hey Nada, thanks for that information. i had done concave/convex mirror experiment. the main idea is that concave gives real images while plane and convex mirrors give virtual image. firstly i got them to look at the mirrors, and give me example where each mirror is used in everyday life. (some examples, the convex mirrors are used on buses, in stores for security reasons. The plan mirror is used in cars etc). Then define what real and virtual image are. (real image is an image that can be focused on to a screen , while virtual image is an image that can be seen behind the surface of a mirror, and cannot be focused onto a screen). then get them to reflect an image onto a white A4 card using each type of mirror concave, convex and plane).
There isnt much info in science core book 3 on mirrors.
I hope i helped you
take care
