Marion
Macauley Bequest Scholarships for Overseas
Studies
Applications for the
Marion Macaulay Bequest Scholarships for 2005 are invited
from students currently enrolled in either the Faculty of
Education and Social Work or the Faculty of Arts. These
scholarships offer overseas study to students who either
intend to become teachers or whose studies in the area of
humanities (eg languages, music, performance studies,
English or history) would be enhanced by the experience.
Preference will be given to students enrolled in the third
year of the BA program, or the third, fourth or fifth years
of both the BEd and BA combined programs, or either year of
the BTeach/MTeach program. Students who have already been
awarded a Marion Macaulay Bequest Scholarship may apply for
a second scholarship, normally in a different discipline. No
student will be eligible to hold more than two awards from
the bequest.
Applications should
include a proposed program indicating how it will relate to
the applicant's intended career (including details of
courses of study and/or other relevant activities to be
undertaken while overseas), a proposed itinerary, and a
budget estimate. Two referees' reports should be provided.
Short-listed applicants may be interviewed. Application
forms and referee's report forms are available from the
Faculty of Arts Office OR from the Faculty of Education
& Social Work office on level 3. Further information is
available from Julia Ossino (Phone 02-9351-2223, email
Julia.Ossino@arts.usyd.edu.au). Applications must be
submitted to the Faculty of Arts..
